Quokka Brew: Coffee that Increases Energy and Focus Without the Jitters! | Quokka Brew

Jitterless is what makes Quokka Brew different. Our special amino acid, however, also brings you laser-like focus, powering you throughout the day! Let’s take a deeper look at two of our highlight ingredients, L-theanine and Ginseng!

L-theanine

L-theanine is a unique amino acid often naturally found in black and green tea! And like it’s name, L-theanine helps Quokka Brew be jitterless in two parts- through relaxing our physical body, and through relaxing our minds.

Physically, L-theanine helps by being a vasodilator. Caffeine, a vasoconstrictor, narrows and constricts our blood vessels, which makes our hearts have to pump harder, making us feel more anxious and ‘jittery’. L-theanine, on the other hand, counters this heart-pumping anxiety, loosening up our blood vessels, allowing for a more relaxed and jitterless focus.

Mentally, L-theanine helps by relaxing our mental state. Research has shown that L-theanine, at “realistic dietary levels”, significantly increases activity in the alpha frequency band on an electroencephalogram (EEG), which closely correlates to the relaxed wakeful state in a human brain. This means that in Quokka Brew, L-theanine not only helps counter the adverse effects of caffeine by relaxing our physical bodies, but also sets our mind into a state of calm productive focus.

Ginseng

Ginseng is a plant root often used for herbal teas, and similar to L-theanine, it works to lower stress. It does so, along with the blueberry and green tea leaf extracts in Quokka Brew, by acting as an antioxidant to help combat a phenomenon commonly known as ‘oxidative stress’. Ginseng not only combats ‘oxidative stress’, preventing harm to your body tissue and cells, but also helps boost mental activity. Ginseng assists the uptake of blood sugar, lowering fatigue and helping you focus longer. More blood sugar means more food for your brain!
